Hi
been reading Fish's excellent articles on converting hat figures.
I am going to start a few soon. I have done a few simple ones already with head swaps between the Wurttemberg Line Infantry and Grenadiers. This creates many more poses per type.
My next lot will be the Bavarians into 1815 Waterloo French Line Infantry with a head swap to a French shako - the rest of the uniform is pretty much the same - just remove the across chest strap - and will post some photos on here when done.
Any suggestions for simple conversions for the other hat 1/32nd sets ? I am wondering what could be done with the Wurttemberg Jagers?

Hi.Just had a quick look through some of my uniform books and thought the Wurttemberg jeagers, apart from other wurttemberg units,{line jagers, light infantry and artillery.}could be used for various units of Cleve Berg,Duchy of Warsaw Legion of the Vistula and some other Polish. All with head swops .The Bavarians can be used for many other German states. No doubt there are many other uses . Cheers martin
Dave I did the Same head swops with my Wurttemberg Figures to double the amount of poses.
The uniform on the jagers is also the pretty much the same also but you have to remove the shako and replace the short riffle with a musket and the chords coming off the shako will have to be removed.
That,s what I loved about the blackcat Russians, the chords are separate and easy to cut off.
I have not gotten around yet to painting up my Wurttemberg line and grenadiers figures yet but I have a whole bunch of them with the heads swopped and based and ready to go.
I need to do some converting for that set still to do some dead and wounded and a few action poses to liven the set up a bit!
I did the jagers up already, I don,t know if you have seen them?
I used a couple of figures from the line and grenadier sets and also made a couple of dead and wounded.
I like the way Hat picked sets to do that have similar uniforms like the french light infantry sets.
Like you suggested in your post the heads can be swopped out from set to set to really bump up the number of poses.
You can swop the heads from the 3 sets to make 3 sets of 18 figures.
I started on chassuers and did a whole bunch of them that I still never got around to getting the finishing touches on.
And have I got as far as making all the head swops for a full set of voltigers and carbiniers and have them based and ready to go but I dread painting a large lot of figures like that.
I did conversions for the chasseurs but not the Volts and Carbs.
I,ve got to break them out and get started painting them before spring rolls around and my mind turns to fishing and then they,ll sit around for yet another year.
