Sorry about the lack of updates, but this is one of the boring interludes, when sculpting is done for some sets, some sets are done and in the queue for release and there are no new test shots or intermediates to see.
The next sets of test shots should be the Russian and Landwehr command sets and two of the Nap. Austrian infantry sets.
Sculptingwise, we are working on the 7YW Austrian sets.
Though the year is winding down, the change of the seasons make no difference in production schedules, if anything it slows it down as people gear up for the holidays and think about things other than production.
Perhaps you guys can post some ideas of what we can talk about and I can post them. By the way, ETS has been updated with some 1/32 conversions and nice work on them!

ok a random thought...
Figures is one thing but what about scenary espevcially buildings..Hat ever thought of venturing into this area maybe in partnership with ESL0 or smoe other company?
Even a sprue of building bits like windows, doors, chimney?
Alex Draper
point being you could insert these into foam card shells as detail - corner flag stones would be good too...
Am I mad? :P
Alex
Not a bad idea; the question is whether or not HaT is willing to branch out into a completely different area of the hobby at this time. I would welcome some affordable 1/32 scale scenery, even if it were in buildable kits. What is out there now costs into the hundreds for a building which is prohibitive on my hobby budget; or they are huge, which is also prohibitive for my storage limitations. My wife is already complaining about the space my hobby takes up as it is.
Not saying I am personally against the idea - I think it would be great if ANYONE offered some sort of accessory/scenery kits or pieces in 1/32 scale. Just saying that I would hate to see HaT overextend itself as some companies have done and go out of business because they bit off more than they can chew.
Two Austrian command sets? That's new information. One German, one Hungarian?
Rahway that was on my mind as well.,,,, So is it Austrian German or Hungarian??
I want to Talk about if Hat should start the Cavarly with 7yw or Nap?
I think 7yw Hussurs 1st, will work for early FRW and Nap.
Now artillery, I say start with 7yw
@All, OK, we've got our first new thread = 1/32 buildings.
@Rahway, sorry, my mistake, it's the infantry sets.
@Anth, OK, that will be the next topic, let's see if we get anymore.
I saw a 2011 napoleonic wish list on the forum for 1/72 scale How about a 2011 napoleonic 1/32 scale wish list over here??? It might bring up some good ideas! Lets start off the list with everything allready available in 1/72 scale done be done in 1/32!!!
If we get 1/4 of what they allready have I,d be happy!
FISH! <"))))><
@FISH, OK, we can do a wishlist.
hat a list for the production 2011 to 1 / 32 possible or not.
waiting for new products hat 1 / 32
I'd like to discuss 1/32 scale buildings but I'll wait for the thread heading to appear.
So do I take it that with the lack of interest in other periods that HaT will be sticking to Napoleonic and 7YW subjects ONLY in 1/32 scale.
Dave M
@Dave M, I think that will be addressed with the wish list.
I'll wait a couple of days more for ideas here before I start posting on the new topics.
O.K. I'll check back in a couple of days.
I thought that the wishlist mentioned by FISH above was ONLY for Napoloenics. If it is going to have a wider theme then I'm in for a bit of writers crap typing out all sets you could/should do:)

Hi
top of my wishlist (not covered already on the plastic 1/32 market):
Crimean War 1854 Battle of the Alma - British guards in bearskins
9th
I think Caesar's Wars would be on my wishlist
Hi,
How about making the following sets available in 54/60 mm: 8193 Egyptian Camelry, 8194 British Camel Corps,8207 Baggage Camels*
8208 Hadendowah Camelry
Yes Britains is coming out with some of these in metal, however, they retail for $80 a piece. I think plastic versions of these set would sell, I hope.

I just posted this over on the forum in a thread about poses, BAD AND GOOD what you like what you don,t like and this is an Issue I,ve had with poses for a long time and I think it should be brought up over here on the 1/32 blog also.
I hate Blocking on figures and heres what I wrote about it over there.
Being a 1/32 converter my biggest problem with plastic figures poses is BLOCKING!!!!
Blocking is that extra plastic created from the mold limitation that makes figure look like crap under there arms and sucks to paint!
How many of you guys cant stand painting that block area??? What color do I paint this block of plastic that shouldn,t be here? I really hate it on firing poses also where it goes into the figures neck making for a very sad looking figure and paint job!
The simple solution to this is what makers of metal figures and kits do and have the arms seperate from the figure. Now you don,t have to deal with pose limitations caused by the sculptor trying to make the figure fit into a one piece mold wich is the cause of some of these FUNKY looking poses in the first place. Now the door is open for the sculptor to be more creative and give us more NATURAL looking poses and not have to deal with these limitations that have been killing us for years!!!
NOW!!! Just think of all the conversion posibilties you have just created by getting rid of all that sad blocking.
Just by glueing the arms higher or lower you have a different look not to mention that now all kinds of different arms can be added to the set and the drinking guy hat in the air ect.. guy can have his own arm option and if you don,t like him chuck his arms and use other that can be included in the set.
Problem solved, figures now also look 100% better and no sad blocking and arms can be stripped from all kinds of various figures and added for the skies the limit now for poses from 1 single figure.
I really wish Hat would consider seperate arms.
FISH! <"))))><
How do you guys feel on this subject??? Does anyone have a problem glueing on arms for improved figures?
FISH,
This subject came up in the discussion of the Cavalry figures and some guys appeared to be against multi-part figures.
Dave M
Dave I,m not talking about a figure kit or anything like that but just that the arms be separate from the figure. This would give the sculptor and the figure assembler many more options in figure pose positions.
Now with 6 figures in the box you could get at LEAST 12 different poses from those 6 figures.
Poses like a firing pose could have a second set of arms for knelling or standing to repel every running and advancing figure could look a lot different just by raising or lowering the hight of the gun not to mention the fact that now you can add as many sets of different arms you can think of and also use arms from different figures also.
The biggest problem converting most figures is cutting away the musket and blocking away from the figure and after your done you have now removed all the detail on the figures chest in the process. this leaves you having to fix all the detail you just removed with 2 part putty having to almost resculpt the chest of the figure or make some kind of limited conversion that,ll pretty munch look like the figure did in the first place.
Having the arms not attached makes for enormous conversion possibilities.
FISH!!!<"))))><
Hi FISH,
I wasn't talking about a figure kit, I was just stating that in previous threads some guys were against assembling figures.
Personally I don't have a problem with what you suggest, I mentioned as much on how to use Artillery figures.
There are some practical issues regarding the size of the mold with seperate arms and bodies in it. Plus how to attach the arms, but apart from that I'm on your side:)
Britians Deetail got round the blocking problem with a plug-in arm for that pose and older companies got round it with better figure design.
