Good morning all, on a bright and sunny Sunday. It appears to be a done deal, the Prussian Landwehr command gets two Prussian Infantry command figures as add ons: the pointing officer with two arms and the fifer.

The Russian Infantry command gets all we said they would get, plus the mounted officer without the horse.

Scott M,
That's a great idea for the horse for the Mounted Russian officer, the Dragoon horse isn't as detailed as the current HaT designs so would probably 'look' O.K. And HaT already has the mold made.
The only drawback I can see is that if they gave you the horse they would have to make the price higher or give less figures in the set to make up for it. Would you buy the command set if you only got 2 sprues of figures and two horses, instead of the usual 3 sprues of figures ?

Hi, can soon find a horse for the Officer - in fact I have just utilised the 2 poses of hat horse out of the Gallic Cavalry 1/32nd set - all I had to do was cut off the rear straps from the hind quarters and sandpaper down until smooth and a bit of trimming elsehere - then undercoat and paint - I have 2 x French Cuirassiers made from Helmet spares plus Helmet saddles on hesse horses backs and they are spot on
keep up the good work hat

I cant se my self paying $15-$20 in postage plus the cost of a set im going to pluck the horse out of...So for me the officer would only be thrown into the bottom of the junk draw.
But might still buy the set for rest of the figs.
Rob C,
@All, the Russian Command sprue is a hard choice. There are 5 figures there already plus a bunch of heads. So for the extra figure, it's either one of the infantry figures or something else. And a few days back someone suggested the idea of just putting the mounted officer in and others approved. A horse occupies a large space on the sprue and it might have to be done in separate parts, taking up either more space. So putting in the horse might allow only spaces for 2 humans. One fully mounted and one foot command figure is too little for a command set. Rock, meet hard place - hard place, meet rock.
@Rob C, $15-20 appears quite a lot for postage! Some places offer free postage.
A mounted officer without the horse is one I am very happy about.
This idea was discussed in the post on the marching French sets. Coming up with a horse or two for officers is not a problem. The mounted officer is certainly preferable to another NCO with halberd. If he had been one of the choices in the original poll he would have had my vote.
I am glad to see this fellow since he is one of the best of the mounted officers so far and there is just not much out there in the way of 1/32 mounted officers for the Russians.
Hi
how about a future contribution of photos by buyers/customers showing this Officer on a donor horse - it will be interesting what materialises.

@Hatblogger thats about what i would pay for postage on a set {from the US}.
But can be a bit cheaper from the UK $8-$12.
I do se your point about adding the officer i will have to wait and se what horse the other guys use.
Rob C
Ok, I will live with that choice. Maybe when the HaT cavalry idea takes off we will find some suitable horses. Until then, he can sit in a drawer (or maybe a Helmet horse for me - looks like it will be around £3 (uk) which I can live with for the odd mounted officer.
Oops - forgot to say.
Prussian landwehr - hurrah!!!!!
@Rob C, write me at the @hat e-mail address.
@Marc, we have a lot of extra Dragoon horses.
