Here is my first attempt at converting a Bavarian artillery crew. I wanted to do a whole 6 gun battery but this single crew was as far as I went so far. Maybe in the future I,ll complete my 6 gun idea, but till then here is my only converted crew. I still have a bunch of infantry figures half painted that I never got around to finishing including a few conversions. I only managed to get a few infantry figures painted up so far.
At some point in the future I,d like to paint up a bunch as line and light infantry and finish my artillery crews and do some cavalry with the HAT heads also.
I have a bunch of boxes of the figures sitting waiting to go, Till I get around to the rest here is all I have so far.

Dear Fish,
great stuff as always, what figures did you use to convert into the Bavarian Arty, some are not from HaT.
The guy with the telescope looks familiar but I cannot place him?

Brian, They are all Hat figures. The guy with the telescope is the firing pose with no backpack and new arms from an Italeri french artillery guy. I added a 2 part putty bag to him also.
The other figures are pretty simple conversions for the most part, just cut out the muskets drill out the hands and add stiff wire and some 2 part putty for the sponge of the ram rods.
The bucket was scratch built with putty and wire and the cannon lighter was made from a piece of wire with thread wrapped around and glued on.
I started a couple of cannon movers and I was going to do another kneeling guy taking ammo from an ammo box like I did with the Prussian guy with bbs but, I ended up turning him into a kneeling to repel infantry figure.
Like I said at some point I plan on returning to this project and doing some better conversions with these guys. These were just real quick ones without much thought put into them.
I really wanted to get rid of the back packs on the figures but that means I have to remove all the cross straps from the front of the figures.
The next batch might have a few non Hat figures bodies and I,ll have to do a bit more work on the next batch when I get around to them.
These swords are wrong for artillery figures and I might try and change that also in future conversions???
This set was just a quick test of the waters and like I said I didn,t put a lot of effort into them.
Thanks! <")))><
nice lot Fish - must have a crack at doing a similar artillery crew
thanks for posting

Dave
Hé Fish,
It's realy fantastic all the converted figures that you show the last time. With your talent, you can make a lot where i can dream from. I realy like your work.
I'am a painter but i don't convert, not yet. I'm too busy with all the figures to finnsh them. I make somethimes kits from helmet soldiers. Mostly officers.
At the moment i'm painting the hät brunswickers and they need officers.
Helmet makes nice figures, anything you like. I wish you mutch fun and if have something new, i realy like to see it.
Greats Manuel
Thanks Manuel! You should give it a try, if you can make up a Helmet kit you can handle some easy conversions.
Why not try and do a Brunswick officer conversion. Give it a try its great fun and you can create many new figures that are not available otherwise!
I wish that Hat would do another set of those Brunswick troops with this new sculptor, that set would have a lot of conversion options. The heads on the old set were not that great, they were to small and never looked right when cut off and used on other figures, too bad because if they were better they would have been great for conversions.
It was still a nice set though!
