super figures - when I am going to find time to paint all these new sets...??? - Maybe I should take early retirement next year when I am 43 yrs old and then have 20 years of painting time to cover them all and future issues !!! Regards Dave 9th
How about the flag bearer duplicated with a seperate set of arms holding a musket so he can become musketeer? Or even a dead or wounded figure or a horse for the officer. I think its a waste to add a repete of an nco since we,ll have 3 already and don,t need 6.
The flag bearer could have 3 sets of arms for a few possible conversions. the flag arms, musket in both arms adavceing and musket in one hand free arm on the other side.
I,m telling you seperate arms are the way to go!!! Each body could produce 3 different figures per set if the arms were sperate, so instead of 6 figures poses per box you could possibly have 18 poses. With seperate arms on a marching figure on one of the figures in the marching set The NCO would just be a seperate set of arms with the musket on the other shoulder and maybe a twist of the head and you have your NCO! Maybe even two left arms for him, one by his side and one streched out to lead the troops. Maybe even a fanion in his musket.
We could get a lot more mileage and poses out of each set.
A standing firing and a kneeling firing in each action set with seperate arms for firing and a set of arms to repel and now you have the option to form a nice square out of each set.
I like the mounted officer - much needed in 1/72 scale, too. What is currently out there, though beautifully sculpted is much too big to be of any use.
FISH, HaT might be interesested in your seperate arms idea if you could explain how they are going to be attached to the figure - Plug-in, Plug-out,flat area and the arms have to be glued on. The latter would be a put off to many here.
I noted in your forum photos of the Conte US Army figure conversions that you have had to use putty to fill the gaps at the arm joints, I do the same thing, but don't think too many guys here could do that or even want to.
Whats' the solution. I don't know, what do you think would work ?
Dave it would be a piece of cake! So easy the kids who buy them wouldn,t have a problem glueing them. The arms would be attached just like every other seperate arm that Hat has ALREADY released. Hole and socket just like the flag bearers and the officer arms ect.. I never heard anyone complain about any of those extra arms???? And I,m talking about the same thing. One arm two arms, whats the difference. The Prussian action set had two figures like that, I didn,t hear any complaints about that, and with those poses not haveing blocking all over there chest I was able to convert many extra an extra pose including all the artillery conversions I did. See what I,m talking about.
I wasn,t talking about just seperate arms to be glued on with a hole and peg or something to help support the arms in place. With this type of plastic being glued like that they would just fall back off again.
When I did those Conte WWII figure conversions the 2 part putty is just not to fill the gaps!!! Those arms are not just glued on or just tacked on with the 2 part putty, I have a way of doing my conversions where I don,t use metal pins like most guys would to hold the parts but I hollow out both sides of the 2 parts to be joined weather it be arms and shoulderd hollowed out or head/neck and fill both ends with the 2 part putty which when it dries acts like a pin. I sometimes will use pins and 2 part putty also if I feel the part being joined needs extra support but just the putty alone is pretty strong if the parts are hollowed enough and you get the putty in there good and deep and join it up right. I did a whole how to thread over on the TREE FROG TREASURES forum with pictures of how I go about my conversions.
I,d be happy at this point if at least one or two of the poses per box had seperate arms or at least one seperate arm and the guns off the chest to make conversions and an extra pose or two possible. I,m creative enough where i can at least convert some extra poses myself but this would have made it possible for guys with the weakest of conversions skills to have some extra poses and to dable in some easy conversions. To me this is the greatest joy the figures bring to me is creating something new and making that one of a kind pose and having enough different poses to bring a diorama to life. A diorama with just 6-8 different poses just does nothing for me. Attack of the clones I like to call it.

This will be a very good set. I like the mounted officer the best of all.
Can whoever is photographing the intermediaries provide sharper photos?
Great looking set! What will the 6th figure be??? A horse or another figure???
FISH! <")))><
I like the mounted officer and am now digging around for a horse... won't be hard for me to give him a good horse.
something looks wrong with the back packs there is no great coat over them.Like the extra heads.
Anth, isn't that the greatcoat wrapped around their bodies?
The NCO is duplicated, unless you guys want something else duplicated in it.

Yes Hat,separate arms,not heads.

If the choice includes figures from the other Russian sets I would like to see the at-ready, bayonet up figure from the Action set duplicated.
