@All, this question was asked on the regular forum but as it pertains to 1/32 figures I thought it would be more appropriate to answer it here:
"What I would like to ask you and hopefully get a reassuring answer to is there any chance you might be ready to start producing something new and different in the 1/32 scale ?"
To steal a phrase from Mrs. Jones, "anything is possible." I mean that it really depends on you, the customers, it depends on market forces. The bottom line is that if sales of 1/32 figures are healthy, then it means that there is reason to make more 1/32 figures. This isn't true just for 1/32 figures but just any consumer items on the market, be it cars, food, soap, widgets, etc.

Hatblogger there is the old saying "Build it and they will come"
We the buyer have no idea whats going on at your end as far as sales go? all we can do is buy what you make {if its a period we like}
Those AWI American masters posted on the forum look nice but will we get them in 1/32?
Rob C,
@Rob C, it's too early to tell what scale those AWI figures will be made in. They are at a very early stage yet.
New line.
Jacobite Rebellion
Huns
Keep with 7yr War with Cavarly and Nap Spainish.
So is
1/32 figures are healthy??
wild thoughts...
1. Join forces with the likes of Ganesha games and bring out boxed gaming sets (rules and figures)of set period stuff e.g napoleonic game, acw game, fantasy?
1:32 fantasy only a russian manufacturer does ths this at the moment
1:32 acw - everyone who collects acw will buy your stuff too - they are collectors!

ACW state troops like 11th Mississippi,Charleston zouaves,Alabama Vol. Corp and so on....
Unusual poses, logistics, medical staff, soldiers behind the front line, cooks, hammersmith workshop, etc. At the first place I mean for Napoleonic era.

Definatly need generals , adc`s ,cavalry and artillery of all eras . Can I ask a question to Hatblogger. A while ago you were saying about horses having to be moulded in two halves . Is there a size limit on your moulds ? Just wondering because Italeri dont seem to have a problem in that area , their horses are in one piece and are fine .Is it just down to cost? Cheers Martin
I was thinking the same thing .The Hat dragoon horses were ok
Plus Hat have made an Elephant!
@martin, that has to do with something other than size.
Hello
Napoleonnic cavalry and artillery 2011? + english please
John
Any update on the 1/32 Baelaric slingers and the sacred band. I am building a Punic War Army and they are are so integral to the period. I would buy several boxes of ewach and I know others interested in the period would also purchase them. You just have to look at your own website and see the interest in these figures.
Thanks Dave
There is a lot which is avalaile in the ancient 1:72 series that I would intrested in seeing in 1:32. This includes Imperial Romans and their foes, Macedonians and Persians, Assyraisn and Sassanids. I especially like the sculpting of the figures in the El Cid series. The Spanish and moorish figures would have the potential for wider usage.
Also are there any answers yet on the blogs relating to the heads for the Austrian figures and the Byzantine and hopolite figures?
@Dave, sorry, there is no further news on the Balearic slingers. If we do them, the whole set will have to be remastered.
@Paul, no determination on the Austrian heads yet. I think we're leaning towards shakos since Italeri already does helmets.
No news on Byzantine or Hoplite figures yet since we still have several sets of 1/32 figures yet to be released (Nap. Russian, Bavarian and Landwehr command, 7YW Prussians, Nap. Austrians...)
.......and Nap Spainish???
Hatblogger, On the Austrians does this mean the idea of multiple alternative heads in each pack is being dropped in favour of a conventional box of shako figures? That would be a shame if that is decision. There were a lot of comments in the blog string that expressed the preference for helmeted figures as well as shako (probably 50/50 support for each). In addition the posting of masters on the HAT site creates the impression that this is a set we can expect in the future. It would be a dissappointment if this is not the case. The posting of your scultured masters is a powerful enticement to many of us to build up our future expectations of sets you will produce.
I am happy with shako Austrians.
Alex D
@Anth, that'll depend on you guys, what you want. The Spanish are ready to go, they're at stage 5.
@Paul, the Austrian set will be 18 torsos with a variety of heads/headwear. So each sprue will contain 6 torsos and a choice of 9 heads/headwear. Right now, we're leaning towards 6 shakos, 2 helmets and 1 bearskin with some more in the command sprue.
We were able to do 18 heads/hearwear with the 7YW Prussian sprue because that sprue does not contain the separate backpacks that the Austrian set does.
@Anth, theoretically anything master that you see on the website can be made in 1/32 scale.
Does that include all the old 1/72 stuff that is already out?
@Anth, theoretically...
I like all these;
#8046 Alexander's Thracians , 8047 Macedonian Cavalry, Alexander's Allied Cavalry ,#8050 Persian Heavy Cavalry, Persian Light Infantry
Persian Heavy Infantry, 8076 Persian Medium Cavalry .
Italeri may do the helmeted austrians .but they are hopless figures . How about 5 each shakos and helmets and 3 x bearskins . cheers Martin
There are nine spots on each sprue. Three of each would be a good compromise. Four/Four/One might be another workable alternative.
My preference would be for 4 Shako, 4 helmets and 1 bearskin or drop bearskin altogether and go for 5 Shako and 4 helmets.
I would prefer that you do a complete set with heads attached of both helmet and shako. That way I can buy only what I want. Otherwise, why would it be so hard to throw loose heads into the box to give enough heads to make what ever I want. Then I don't have to buy extre boxes just to get the extra heads. If I don't want shakos or bearskins then I am stuck with so many torsos without any head at all.
Sscott
I think that Scott has got a point here. Maybe the simplest way to resolve this satisfactorily is to produce different sets with either shakos or helmets - which seems to be the figures people are most interested in. Many of us were prepared to buy all three of your French light infantry sets not just the one we liked most. That didn't stop you successfully producing and marketing all three sets. I think I would probably buy both the helmet and shako versions. The trouble is without the scope of doing 18 heads for the three types of head on each sprue, there will always be someone that is losing out in whatever mix of the nine heads that eventually appear. There will be a lot of disgruntled people who feel that they are having to buy additional boxes and having surplus heads that they didn't really want. Is the design and production at too late a stage to still do this Hatblogger - having different boxes for helmets and shakos?
Is it possible to produce one ( or two )sets with historical figures of Napoleonic era? For example Duke of Brunswick, general Picton, marshal Murat etc.Something like the Waterloo 1815 did in 1'72
In the Napolenic series : Poles would be great to.
SYW British Grenadiers. ACW marching. Napoleonic Cossacks and light cavalry.
Seven Years war cavalry and artillery, Austrian and Russian cavalry and artillery of the Napoleonic wars, Crimean war Russian artillery, cavalry (dragoons) and infantry with helmets, 1877-78 war Russians and Ottomans, Austrian and Italian Troops of the Risorgimento wars, Hungarian Revolution 1848,the Balkan wars armies.
Hi
Sorry late addition to the headline question.
Would seem best to work from what already is available and branch out. So say the Jacobite 1745 would complement the new 7YW range. Likewise French and Indian Wars sets. Which would also tie in with any move into the AWI?.
But first perhaps some horsemen, Arty, generic generals and light troops to go with the SYW and Napoleonics?
Finally, i liked the look of the Greek Hopolite set, and they would stand alone, as their main enemy was each other!!
cheers
