Due to not having enough support for the 1/32 Austrian Marching set within 30 days, it has been cancelled. All monies paid in have been fully refunded.
But we are not giving up! We are now taking ideas for any other set to be crowdfunded in 1/32 scale. What set would you like to see? Please post your suggestions here or e-mail it to us. Any set that we have masters for, present or past, can be suggested.
Cheers, HaT2

Sad to hear the 1/32 Napoleonic Austrians didn't get off the ground, Personally it wasn't going to work for me because: a) I already have lots of the Italieri Nap Austrians b) It's easy to make lots more by painting any figure in a shako white.
I would like to see some era made that have not been done before in plastic such as Williamite/Malburian Wars or Ottomans for that same period.
Good luck with future projects.
Very sad to hear of 93XX Napoleonic Austrians not getting the support required to be put in production. Like Brian I have lots++ of Austrian Infantry from Italeri, so did not lend support getting more at present.
May I suggest the Spanish Napoleonic Infantry (if they qualify with Masters rough). This has not been done to my satisfaction/knowledge within the last twenty years (may be by realmsa -forgive the spelling and DSG), at least not in the quantity and quality of HaT that I require.
I need a significant volume of your HaT 93XX Spaniards (as you have done their uniforms and poses for the infantry -would also be interested in a Spanish Command Set). I am interested in recreating in 54mm (on a smaller scale) the Battle of Ocana 1809.
To get the ball rolling, if you do select the 93XX Napoleonic Spanish, I'll put a minimum purchase of 8 boxes to the crowd funding enterprise. I'll require more later (I find it hard to keep up with the painting :-) and the wife insists on staggering the purchases).
Hopefully there are many other enthusiastic 54mm Peninsular War modellers and gamers who would do likewise. Many thanks!
I'll second Brian and say 1/32 War of the Spanish Succession marching. One set would do all nations (almost) and you could have separate heads for the different nations grenadier caps. Command figures could come in the same box, so it would be a popular one off set. I would pledge to buy 10 boxes straight away. Cavalry would be nice too....
I'd vote for 1/32 version of the WWI French with kepis (set 8148). They would be serviceable for Crimea right up to 1914 and I think they would also be very popular with 'Little Wars' type players. (They would also go great with my already painted 1914 Germans by AIP!)
Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming!
British Line infantry 1808-1815 with Belgic, stovepipe shako hat options. 109 line regiments to paint them up as plus émigré regiments, militia and fencibles with many different facing colours and could also be painted as Portugese in the Peninsular War plus Belgians in 1815.
Sorry 104 Line Regiments
I second the British Line which could be used for War in 1812 as well.
I am struggling to find a set of ordinary British Napoleonic LINE infantry
in 1/32 - everyone makes British Light infantry with the shoulder wings.
AIP do a set but they are their usual over animated figures - a good set of
British line would fill a gap in the market - perhaps with separate heads
for 2 shako types and separate backpacks? They could be used for Hanover as well...
British Line - with centre and elite company distinctions, and choice of hats.
On TMP, 4th Cuirassier suggested this, but said he couldn't log on here. So this is me raising it as "two people"
Hello
It's a shame the abandonment of the Austrian project. Whatever future projects 1/32 I would participate by buying multiple games at minimum. My preference is the period of empire
Ps you sell the Masters 1 / 32autrichien

I wonder how widely known the Austrian Crowd Funding venture was? I mentioned it in my column in Toy Soldier Collector but by the time the issue comes out it will have been cancelled! I wonder if Kickstarter would not be a better route, with much wider publicity across the hobby?
As for 1/32nd figures needed - surely not boring British Line Infantry, when it is easy enough to remove flank company distinctions? :-) What is need is something no one has ever done in 1/32nd - Ottomans! They would span the centuries from Medieval to Napoleonic and even beyond, as the clothing hardly changed, only the adoption of firearms altering the appearance of the troops. They are colourful, exotic and actually a damn fine army to field and fight with.
But, unfortunately I suspect this whole approach is doomed from the start because 'Ask a dozen wargames for what they want, get thirteen different answers'!
Popular subjects might sell better - Napoleonics, ACW , ww2 ?
I second Mike's opinion. Would also follow Brian. But on the other hand special periods won't sell as good as figures of the popular periods/armies.
Or wouldn't it be a sollution to produce special figures in limit quantities at a higher price. (supply and demand price).
Surely those looking out for special ranges would be prepared to pay more, and for the manufacturer, even if his first target is profit, making what no other ever did must give statisfaction too.

It is ok if you can convert figures . I can convert allsorts so I am lucky and personally not too bothered what comes out, but many collectors/painters/wargamers cannot or do not want to convert figures into the unusual regiments etc...Surely the more popular types would sell better. British Infantry Waterloo, French Imperial Guard, French Line, French Cuirassiers etc...but if you want the battery of Dutch East Indies artillery at Waterloo 1815 then you have to convert.
I like to see some Dark Age warriors that could be either used as Saxons, Vikings or even Normans. Just your average type warriors with long shirts, maybe one or two with chain mail shirts. The poses could be the ones to form a shield wall, that way some one might buy more that one set. Also it would be nice to have the choice to hat different hats or helmets like the Prussian 7YW figures. Being able to have ring hands to use different weapons like spears, axes or swords would be great too. If you could have the scale close to the Conte medieval figures that would be great. I would buy at least 10 boxes right away :)
I don't think enough people knew about this. I was at the Chicago toy soldier show in September and specifically asked about hat 1/32 production and everyone I talked to didn't know about this and guessed 1/32 scale production was finished. I would have supported this had I have known sooner and I do still hope 1/32 Napoleonic War Austrians will be produced by Hat. I too, like many of you would like the action poses first and would buy more action poses that marching. One month just doesn't seem like enough time. I think a lot of people like me, haven't checked the site in a while because 1/32 scale has been neglected so long. As for future sets, I'm still hoping for the Austrians and Spanish. Bicorn hat French line infantry would be nice though.
Thanks for all your suggestions. I think we'll have another 1/32 crowdfunding effort up shortly, maybe in a week or so. Keep checking this blog and the front page!
The French at Crimea did not use same uniform as that of WW1
The French at Crimea did not use same WW one uniform , the kepi in question was a more high elevated verssion and only in few units.
Marching poses sets would be a perfect addition as marching was the most done during battles just before the front firing or weapon forward command was giving.
In fact march posture was used in all battles columns formation during normal or fast advance but the two front ranks from
Late XVII to mid XIX centuries according to most drills manuals and painting .
The not support of it take of an important set of poses.
Is wrong to assume every body should be firing or fighting pose in battle of these eras .
Is never enough Austrian when in fact Austrian s armies was third largest and numerous armies of Europe for centuries and fough more largest battles agaist France than Britain and Spain combined.
My thoughts.
Best
It's a pitty that the Austrian napoleonics are cancelled, anayway it was a very good idea. I known that everybaody that will have Austrians, they have the Italeri figures. I was intrested in the one's with the shako's, it looks a bit like Dutch infantry. I like to much off the napoleonic periode, converting is always possible. some nice French curassiers, it must be a succes i think.
Or British foodgards with a Belgian and Dutch shako? In that way you have a bit options. I understand it's not easy to make a choise, everybody have different things in mind. I thank you already a lot for all what you made
sofare.
I fully agree on Charlie Baldwin. I don't want to complain because I would encouraged every 1/32 step that HaT will make. But I don't see the need for a new set of 1/32 British (light) infantry...With good sets and recasts of Airfix around, A Call to Arms has two good and usefull sets and if you want Victrix also has beautiful figures only a little more expensive. So I think the Austrians would be more interesting and needed for the Napoleonic range.
However, I hope that HaT will continue the 1/32 range!
