I know I have seen these up close at sometime, but does anyone know how the HAT Dragoons size up against other 1/32 figures? The guys as well as the horses.
Anyone ever do any horse conversions? I'd like to see that.u

The figures and horses are more like 1/35 scale . Very similar to A Call To Arms offerings. Cheers Martin
I meant to say also they are a bit on the small side to other 1/32 figures Martin
I understand, thanks. Amazing how the sizes fluctuate even among the same manufacturer. I was disappointed the Landwher Prussians were on the small side. Same with some of the Italeri sets. They did a wonderful job making a follow up set to the Austrains but made then noticably larger.
I painted a few of these a few years ago - pictures in 1/32nd section of the hat website - I tried animating a few and gave better horsehair effects in milliput modelling clay for the dragoon helmets

I have a few sets of these and they are pretty much true 1/32 scale size.
I never got around to getting them painted up though. These are some of hats early 1/32 scale sets which were pretty much the 1/72 figures bumped up in size and the sculpting was not as good as the newer 1/32 scale sets but still good to see more Napoleonic cavalry.
I wish they would do a few new sets of Napoleonic cavalry with the improved sculpting seen in the latter 1/32 scale sets!
As far as converting horses I have converted many.
Anything from simple cutting them from the base and repositioning them into rearing and falling to dead and wounded to chopping them up and adding new heads or turning 2 different horses into one new one.
I also have made new saddles with 2 part putty.
Lots of options on horse conversions, just be careful cutting them up, they can be real tough to chop in half.
Here is a link to a thread with some pics of some of the horses that I have converted.

Bought many boxes, but mostly for the horses, and for converting the figures. 16 figuring in my wargame armies as French Dragoons.

Just a note that it's a common myth that 1/72 figures can be bumped up to 1/32. These are not 1/72 figures bumped up to 1/32. Both these 1/72 and 1/32 figures are bumped down from a set of larger masters.
Slightly small 1/32 scale figures, but they paint up beautifully (really impressive).
A shame that they are HaT's only set of Napoleonic 1/32 scale Cavalry :-(
