Okay, I'm going to borrow a subject for a thread. We've already discussed this over on the Forum so I thought it might be fun to do here with some modification (folks had so much trouble just choosing ONE figure):
What is your favorite pose from given eras or wars? (this allows you to choose more than just one); I know this is still a tough one because as I write this I can think of several various poses from the same sets that come to mind. We can even entertain different sides or armies from the same war if you're only into a certain period/era or two (say WWII German pose, WWII US, WWII Russian, British, etc.)
Maybe an explanation of why this one or that one is your favorite. Who knows? It might give our friends at HaT some ideas when developing their own figures (not that it appears they need much help in the idea department) as to what we collectors like in our guys.

The one that comes to mind would be the TIMPO Highlander hit in face casualty pose {what a fantastic sculpted pose}

This Timpo pose is a classic - I reckon it is inspired by the 1968 feature film/movie - The Charge of the Light Brigade - there is a scene at the Battle of the Alma when a highlander is shot and he reels back and looks just like the Timpo soldier. This Timpo set dates from the early 1970's as part of the Action Pack series. The Timpo Waterloo sets were originally from the late 1950's
Dear All,
one of my favouretes is the standing to attention Prussian Line Infantryman contained in the 1/32 Allied Comd set by Italeri, it is a shame they did not produce the Prussians as a set in 1/32 there were some good poses in the 1/72 set. Having said that they tend to make some strange selections when upscaling their figures. Their new 1/72 Hylanders have some excelent poses.

March-attack poses all the way, at least for close-order Napoleonic infantry. That's why I'm really liking the new Hat marching releases.
Ken, All the King's Men
From ACW: The "Armistead" figure by Marx. Honorable mention: Confederate getting shot (Marx); Running Texan (Marx); Ultimate has to be rider and falling horse.
World War II: US: Too many great ones to name, Conte's D-Day GIs so many great poses. I do like the sarge with the Thompson and Schmeisser (even though it's totally outlandish); like TSSD's "Wildman."
German: Marx's guy running with the Machine pistol was always a favorite of mine, I like Conte's SS Officer in the overcoat.
Just a few off the top of my head.
I like the Scottish Highlander, too.

I really like the Airfix Collectors series "French Cuirassier 1815." It would be great if something similar (single-cast) was produced en masse (with a similar thick, robust detail), to be bought ready made in boxes of 6 or so.
I have some A Call to Arms Cuirassiers, but they are thin and insubstantial for such an impressive cavalry soldier.
If HaT were to produce these in a chunkier-form (as well as other types such as Line and Guard mounted Chasseurs and mounted Grenadiers, I could guarantee the purchase of many dozens of these to form large brigades on my diorama and wargaming table.

Herald's mounted Sheriff of Nottingham from the 50's. The horse was superb. I still have the Sheriff but the horse fell prey to hardening of the plastic, and every touch cost another limb or piece of bridle.
I like Hats greatcoat french commander
Geez. So many to chose from: Yeah the Marx running general, and the falling rider are both fabulous. But I like the 45mm Indian shooting over the head of his pony, the Marine running machine gun team, the 60mm pioneer firing his pistol, the Airfix cavalry, etc. etc. etc. So many good choices I can't nail it down to one. But, this is a good topic.
March-attack and high-porte for Napoleonic infantry and a good walking and good standing horse.
